Inger Södergren's biography

Born in Sweden, the pianist Inger Södergren was awarded a grant by the Stockholm Royal Academy of Music to continue her studies in France with Nadia Boulanger and Yvonne Lefébure. She then embarked on an international career, proving herself to be a musician of exceptional talent and originality.

Inger Södergren shows real flair and insight in her interpretations of the works of great composers such as
Beethoven, Schumann and Brahms. Her recordings - exclusively for Calliope - have been unanimously hailed by the critics and showered with awards ¯ «Diapason d’Or », « Choc » du monde de la musique, grand prix du disque Charles Cros etc….

Inger Södergren's greatest gift lies in her capacity for revealing hidden treasures in works the listener thought he knew so well. You must listen to her and listen again. For she introduces the listener to rare moods. She commits herself to the music. Inger Södergren remains completely oblivious to fashions and trends. She is not afraid to proclaim her love of pathos. She allows herself to be guided by her intuition. The listener is not taken by force, but is left free to follow her in her conquest, if he so desires. An attitude that is both precious and worthy of respect.

She appears at the great piano venues and takes part in various prestigious concert series:
in Paris "Piano quatre étoiles" and "Les grands concerts" at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, "Les grands interprètes" at the Salle Gaveau; concerts at the Théâtre du Châtelet; in France: festival La Roque d'Antheron, festivals Radio-France and in Montpellier; in Holland: recitals in Amsterdam Concertgebouw, in Portugal: Lisboa Gulbenkian fondation; in Japan: Tokyo Bunka Kaikan etc.. She just release a new recording of Beethoven sonates "Waldstein" and "Les adieux" for Calliope.

Since 1994, she is also
the partner of the contralto Nathalie Stutzmann, with whom she has recorded (for RCA Victor red seal) Lieder by Schumann (Japan Record Academy Award) and Brahms, and songs by Chausson and Poulenc.
